The 142-5868 crankshaft rear oil seal is the factory replacement sealing component for CAT C15, C16 and C18 six-cylinder heavy-duty engines. It is installed at the rear end of the crankshaft to block engine lubricating oil from leaking out of the crankshaft and bell housing junction.

The seal adopts integrated steel outer frame and spring-loaded fluororubber sealing lip. Clear directional arrows and "INSTALL DRY" text are molded on the surface to guide standard installation, eliminating improper mounting errors. Worn or hardened rear main seals will lead to severe engine oil leakage, oil level drop and flywheel contamination, which directly affects engine running stability. It must be replaced thoroughly during engine major repair, crankshaft maintenance or transmission disassembly.
